Ivory Gull 16-12-13

With a Ivory gull being found at Patrington Haven late on the 15th,Jacqui and myself decided after we had to do what was needed to be done then we intended heading off for Patrington, but before we had gone to do our choir Anthony Bentley rang asking if we wanted to go,with time arranged ect we was on our way.On arrival we could see that it was going to be a bit of a walk to the pumping station, but after about a 15 minute walk we reached the haven, with Richard Willison and Graham Catley already on site along with 30 other birders, with a steady stream coming and going all day.
The bird had been down on the fish but spent the next 6 hours out on the flats only giving scope views until the tide pushed it back in and it sat on a rocky out crop for a short while then flew back down to the fish for a last feed before dark,Glynn Sellers,Kevin Du Rose and LGRE also present so a great day had by all what a cracking bird.My 335 for Britain
